FAQ
Questions about the bot
Is the Discord fart bot free?
Yes. No premium tier, no in-app purchases, and no limits on how many servers you add it to.
How often does the bot fart?
By default it picks a random gap between 5 and 60 minutes. You can set your own range with /fartaday frequency, down to a minimum of one minute. Each interval is re-rolled after every fart, so you can't predict our next strike!
Can I limit it to certain voice channels?
Yes. Use /fartaday channel-list to add or remove the bot from channels, and /fartaday channel-settings to switch between whitelist and blacklist mode.
Does it record audio or read messages?
No. While I'm sure you're very interesting, we're not interested in spying on you or selling your data. Full detail in the Discord bot privacy policy.
What permissions does it need?
Connect and Speak, plus the standard slash-command scope. It does not ask for administrator, message access, or the member list. Adding the bot to a server requires the Manage Server permission, and so does every configuration command.
Can I pause the bot?
There is no pause command. If it is landing at the wrong moments, widen the interval with the frequency command, blocklist the channels you want left alone, or remove the bot and add it back later.
What happens if nobody is in a voice channel?
Nothing. When the timer fires the bot looks for a channel with at least one real person in it. If there isn't one, it skips that round and schedules the next attempt. It will not sit in an empty channel.
How is this different from a soundboard bot?
A soundboard waits for someone to press a button, so everyone sees the joke coming. This one runs on its own chaotic timer. May the odds be in your favor.
How do I remove it?
Remove the bot from your server the same way you would any other Discord app. Its scheduled tasks stop immediately. If you also want its stored settings deleted, email support@fartaday.com.
